Why does IBM recommend putting the DB2 ssidMSTR address space into the WLM SYSSTC service class?

ssidMSTR does not need to be using such a high priority service class. As long as ssiddMSTR has a higher priority than IRLM , the priority is fine.

ssidMSTR runs the DB2 internal monitor. To make sure DB2 can do a good job monitoring itself, this address space should have a very high priority in the system.

ssidMSTR is the DB2 'master' address space, and as such controls the other DB2 system address spaces like ssidDBM1, and ssidDIST. Therefore it should have the highest priority in the system.

Running ssidMSTR at SYSSTC priority is not recommended. This address space only runs requests on behalf of others at the priority of the requesting address space. Therefore there is no need to assign ssidMSTR such a high priority.
